1. This mesmerizing conversation was like listening to Depeche Mode at their most powerful: haunting, inspiring, tender, raw, like a shirtless, sweaty Dave Gahan. My Rhetoric of Animals class at UT will finish this semester with a discussion about many of the subjects raised here, and an inquiry into how effective an unscripted conversation like this one can be in helping people understand and feel a part of what they otherwise would dismiss as outside their horizon of responsibility.
