I’m back on the physics, reading and rereading Carlo Rovelli like a banshee.
But like a nice banshee.
Rovelli is a quantum gravity theoretical physicist who writes with the quill of a poet.
I think I’ll do something good for my life by doing this.
“This” referring to reading about white holes, quantum theory, and the nature of time.
To understand reality with greater clarity will help me be less of a knucklehead?
I’ll be less caught by illusion.
I’ll have more freedom.
I’ll understand with my body why my self-centered sense of the universe nets me all of the unnecessary suffering, above what we get dealt by the hands of life and the dealer of fate.
For a few days after finishing each of the books above I walk around feeling different, seeing differently.
Then the understanding fades.
And I know I need to re-read them yet again.
Do you have a favorite written work that helped you understand reality, thereby adjusting your heart-head for the better? Do tell.
In other news, Bobby is leaving Queer Eye! 😥
I’ve found this show to be one of my faithful simpler pleasures — nothing like finishing a long day of learning about what happens on the inside of a black hole than watching Antony’s glistening forearms in a cut-off T, helping someone make a salad for the first time in fifteen years.
All the while Bobby remodels an entire house and never forgets to add a fiddle-leaf tree in the corner.

Better question: all five of Fab 5 have character in many senses of the word. If you watch the show and have followed their adventures in the life makeover biz, do any of their individual characters stand out to you on which to model your own aspirations?
Balm your tears with these heavenly tunes:

I loved Helgoland! Looking forward to the others.
I’ve been looking for a good read on exactly this topics. Serendipity. I look forward to diving in.
