CxD #164 A single, important 📻 to listen to❣️
I’m not going to write much this week other than to suggest emphatically and sincerely that y’all listen to this podcast episode. It’s several hours, and it’s often provocative in what I feel is the healthiest version of that word: it will provoke you to think about some of our most important current issues in ways you might not have thought about before.
Caveat: I don’t always agree with Sam Harris; I also often do agree.
Another caveat: before you start reacting with “I agree” or “I disagree” double check to see if you’re allowing yourself to actually listen first. I think the invitation is towards dialogue rather than dogma or ideology. Later, as a second step, we can attempt to fine-tune points of disagreement.
Next week I’ll attempt to offer my own ponderings after I have a chance to listen to it one or two more times, usually the number it takes for genuinely substantive subjects to integrate.
