CxD #130
1. The entire clusterfuck of our human problems is expressed in this one stanza by W.H. Auden:
We would rather be ruined than changed
We would rather die in our dread
Than climb the cross of the moment
And let our illusions die.
2. For those who haven’t seen this yet, notice how elegantly the visuals help us understand these easy-to-dismiss-because-of-abstraction constructs:

3. The sweetness between two friends sharing ideas and telling each other how much they miss and love one another is friendship at its most beautiful. Bonus when they help educate the public about the historical context of white supremacy. 🥰❤️🥰
4. I’m putting out feelers for people who would want to play in a monthly poker game for the deliberate and explicit purpose of delving deeper into their own emotional states and character constructs. Read CxD#129 for context. The game itself, though, would be actual poker, involving actual stakes––otherwise, the emotions would be false. Maybe the winner’s $ will go to charity? With a running monthly tally and a handsome trophy at the end of the rainbow? In any case, if you’d like to learn to play poker in order to learn about yourself, let me know you’re interested via email. If there’s enough interest, I’ll send a follow-up. If not, I’m gonna go to Vegas by myself, see that I don’t!
5. Podcast I’m delving deep into out of an urgency to try to understand “How could this possibly…” and “What Now?” and “Sounds uncomfortably familiar…”
